Addison has been in what is called the 4-month wakeful period. From what I have read, it starts when a baby is about 15 weeks and usually lasts until 19 weeks. During this time, a baby can be described as "distractible baby." It's an important stage of development. So I'm all for it, but this is not an easy stage.
She wants to see everything. She wants to stand. She wants to sing. She wants to read. She wants to play. She wants to rock. She wants to cuddle. She wants to watch some VeggieTales.
And she wants to fight sleep.
There is too much to see. Too much to do.
For the past week, Addie has been going through this stage and each day it has taken me five-six hours to get her down for the first nap of the day. My once amazing napper. She always had a morning nap. She then got up and played. She then slept again. Then up to eat and play and then usually one more late afternoon/evening nap before Rob got home. She loved napping. A big fan of it (as was I). But just like a switch was flipped, she stopped napping.
Even though she hasn't been napping, she is happy. She has been laughing. I mean like seriously laughing. She has been talking almost nonstop. She wants to interact all the time. Which I love. I love that she wants to play and interact and talk. It definitely makes days fun. But completely exhausting.
She just keeps getting better even with all our nap problems.
