Addison Sophia: 8 Months

Dear Addie:

Just recently I saw a quote by Shakespeare from A Midsummer Night's Dream: "And though she be but little she is fierce." That is you my beautiful girl. You are little [about 20 some pounds of little, wearing 12 month clothes] but you are fierce. You have a personality. You have character. You are definitely unique. But perfectly so. You are vocal. You are curious. You are playful. You are loving. You are strong. You are exactly you. You have bits of your dad and you have bits of me, but you are just you.

You are definitely discovering things you like and things you don't like so much. Some of your favorite things right now is the exersaucer. You just love to bounce away. Your favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? You would have me read it all day if only I would do it. You get so excited when we pick up that book to read. I love that you love books. You have a lot of favorite toys, but the one we couldn't live without is puppy. Just recently we started giving him to you to sleep with at night and it has definitely help you stay settled longer. You had spent the last month waking up at 5 in the morning every day but since giving you puppy you have started sleeping until 8 again. I love you darling but I don't really want to see you at 5am. We definitely have better days when we don't see each other that early.

You are definitely not liking strangers right now. When we go out, you just stare at people. Sometimes you smile. Sometimes you get a pouty lip and start crying. But mostly you just stare at them, so we just joke that you are looking into people's souls. You had a short while when you were going through a separation anxiety. But you have sense recovered from that. You do have a tendency to prefer me over anyone else including your dad, but that only makes sense since we are pretty much together all the time. Although you do love your daddy to pieces; he can make you laugh in ways I definitely can't.

You have hit some mega milestones. You can say mama now. You don't usually babble too much, but it is clear when you say mama now. You have made a 'd' sound every once in awhile, but you haven't tried all that hard to say dada. You'll get there. You can sit up unassisted now. You just love sitting up and playing now. You love holding your ball and hitting it. Stella, however, appreciates it way less than your ball does. When you are on your tummy, you have figured out how to get your knees under you but after that you have no clue what to do. You roll around and scoot to get places until you figure out how to actually crawl. You're a smart girl so I'm sure it will be soon.

You are just growing up so fast. It hardly seems possible that you are already 8 months. I know I say that every month but time is just flying by. At times it feels like you were just born and other times it feels like you have always been with us. You have definitely made life better. We never knew what we were missing then you came along and we knew it was you. We love you so much, tater tot!

Love, Mama
