Dear Addie:
You are just changing so fast. I just can't keep up. What happened to my tiny little newborn who loved to cuddle? Now I have an active 9 month old who is big on independence. Well, here's a little secret I like every stage with you. You make every stage interesting and exciting and fun. As much as I loved the newborn stage and all those cuddles, I wouldn't trade where we are now for the world. You are content. You are independent. You sleep through the night. You are a great eater. You are active. You are just amazing. You are a busy, busy girl!
It amazes me each month how much you change. You hardly seem like the same girl month to month. Last month you would just buckle if we tried to stand you up, but you did like to bounce in your exersaucer. However, now you love to stand. We stand you up on the couch and lean you against the back, and you just look out the window happy as can be. You also love standing at the ottoman too, if only you would keep your bum in. You'll get there. But at this rate, you'll be standing before you crawl.
Just recently we started taking you to the church nursery because you no longer sit quietly and play during the service. And as it turns out you aren't a big fan of the nursery. You have started screaming just when we walk in the door now. But I can't blame you too much, you are used to just the two of us during the day. Plus you are experiencing some major separation and stranger anxieties. You'll get used to the place but it is just taking some time.
You have just recently started doing some things like clicking your tongue. You will just sit there and click away, plus you are also purring or at least that's what I call it. We no longer have to cry-it-out but purr-it-out. You have also started sharing. Or at least doing what you think is sharing which is offering me toys, but not actually giving me anything. But you do get really excited when the person you are offering your toy to gets excited and thanks you. You have also started moving/crawling/squirming into my lap when you want me to pick you up. And when I don't pick you up immediately, you wipe your face against me.
You are just changing so much. You are growing like crazy. Your personality comes out more and more every day. And I love the little person you are becoming. You are beautiful, and you are wonderful. You just keep on being that happy, beautiful person you are. We love you so much.
