Addison Sophia: 10 Months

Dear Addie:

Here we are again. You are another month older. Another month smarter. Another month bigger. Another month of changes. I don't know why it surprises me how much you change month to month, but it always does. You are forever surprising me though. You are constantly changing. Your personality is becoming more evident every day. You are very aware of the world around you. You have definite likes and dislikes. You becoming you, which sometimes is a little bit too much like me.

Unfortunately you aren't crawling yet, but you are so close. I say unfortunately because I am so looking forward to you being able to move on your own, but I'm betting my tone will change after you are on the move for a bit and I'm tired of chasing you around and cleaning up all the messes you make in your wake. But I can also see how frustrated you are getting from not being able to move. You are so close but you can't quite get it down. And this is where you are too much like me: you get frustrated quickly and easily then you just give up. I was really hoping you were going to be much more like your dad, but unfortunately you got that from me. But no worries, you'll get there soon enough!

You are loving the table food. You eat your purees like a rock star still but you have started having dinners with us and you are loving it. You are a fan of cheese, cheerios, grapes and carrots. But your favorite hands down is broccoli. You were crazy for it, which is great. I'm taking full advantage of the fact that you love everything right now and giving you lots of fruits and vegetables.

There are so many things that you love right now. You love puppy. You are all about puppy. He fixes everything right now. And when he can't, mama does. You definitely have a preference for me right now. I love that you are a mama's girl, but your face lights up as soon as your dad gets home from work. You chat away with him when he gets home, telling him all about your day. You love talking with your dad everyday.

Even more than before, you love books if that's even possible. You go crazy for books. Your favorite right now is either The Very Hungry Caterpillar  or The Very Busy Spider. You just stare at the pages, taking in the pictures and the words. You also love being outside. We try to go for walks at least once a day but it's been a little hot for that lately, but when we can you love it. And if we can't be outside, you'll just settle with being out and about. One of your favorite places is grocery store, probably because we go there on a regular basis. But being out is not much different than before. You have always loved going out, seeing everything you can see, watching people. Another way you are a lot like me - you get antsy.

Probably by next month, you'll be crawling, eating even more table foods, talking more so we might even understand some you are saying, and well, who knows what else - walking?! You are growing like crazy. Maybe if you could just slow down a little bit. I love seeing your personality come out. You are so beautiful and so loved - always remember that!

Love, Mama
