Sense, Learn, Play: Magnetic Letters & A Cookie Sheet

Sometimes it's the simplest things that make the best toys. The title is exactly how it sounds.

See, magnetic letters and a cookie sheet.

I had the letters on the fridge for awhile, but kickie-mckickersen (like my creative spelling?!) would take them off the fridge then kick them everywhere including under the fridge. I was a little tired of fishing them out from under the fridge, so I had to figure something else out.

That when I decided to pull out my largest cookie sheet, which I hardly ever use and dumped the letters on it. Of course I should probably fess up to the fact that the reason why I even did this to start with was because I was trying to make dinner and Addison was trying to "help." (But never fear, I had a enough time between dinner making to supervise Addison's magnetic letter play time and to take pictures!)

She was definitely interested. She checked out the letters. Threw them around a bit. Picked them up and dropped them. Did the normal 15 month thing. Then she did this...

Yup, she just climbed right into the cookie sheet and planted herself, happy as can be.

She kicked away, smiling and giggling. Eventually she was sitting on all the letters and there were no other letters by feet so she was mostly just kicking nothing.

She loved it. It was so simple and things I already have. Every day, Addie crawls into the cookie sheet every day and plays for at least fifteen minutes at a time. It's crazy what will entertain a kid and a tired mom (hey that's me!) who just wants to cook dinner will take what she can get.
