Truthfully it's much the same as a typical day around here. That's not all that exciting. I know. It's just a continuation of the week. But nevertheless, here's our weekend....
Saturday
0745 // I wake up and check my mail and such on my phone, resisting getting up. But I hear the kiddo who is up earlier than I like this morning.
0800 // Breakfast
0847 // She moved on to something else. Meltdown over. Thank goodness.
0850 // She melts down about something else now. This is going to be a long day...
0857 // It's probably better if we leave the floor so we head down to the sitting room/kitchen/dining room level.
0915 // I decide to work on classwork while the kid plays but my computer is dead and Addie doesn't want to play with her toys anymore. She decides that it is important pull the recycling out of the trash out. Maybe this should be a movie day. Just give up now and do what I have to to get through the day.
0940 // Addie decided to rearrange my books for me. Thanks kid...
0947 // She off and moving again. Up the stairs to our bedroom. At this rate I'll never get done what I need to do. Did I mention how much I'm not liking this day? Plus my video lecture keeps cutting out and freezing. I should have stayed in bed.
1015 // I give up. Movie time (Tangled)
1140 // Movie is finished. I turned on a Youtube video to watch (Shaytards) until lunch. Addie watched briefly before heading off for some toys
1200 // Lunch time
1245 // Down for a nap for the kid.
1255 // 10 minute timer went off so I'm up to lay her back down and hand her puppy. Today will be a battle.
1306 // Back up again. This day keeps getting longer.
1316 // Seriously kid?
1327 // It's finally quiet up there. I'm basically holding my breath now, just hoping she doesn't wake up for at least another two hours.
1450 // The Monster is stirring
1501 // I go up, resolved the she's not going back to sleep. Mama was watching the Olympics so that's what we go and do. She just has to deal with watching speed skating. It is memorizing.
1550 // Apparently Addie doesn't care about the Olympics but you do what you have to do watch.
1610 // After trying to play with the trash (I guess I'm going to have get a recycling trash can with a lid), we go back downstairs and straight into the ball pit.
1700 // Time to make dinner. She whines. We eat dinner.
1745 // We finished dinner and head downstairs and watch Mulan.
1900 // Mulan is over, so Mama switches back to the Olympics (we have digital bunny ears so I can only watch it on the main NBC channel certain times of the day). Right about this time, Daddy finally comes home. It was a long day for him. Addie was so excited but he was on a conference call so had to go downstairs and she was so disappointed.
1930 // We are head for bedtime snack and then on to our routine then bed. Rob is done with this conference call, take a shower then has a couple of other things to do for the Marines. I continue to watch the Olympics until 10:30 when we go to sleep.
Sunday
0730 // I didn't jump up immediately out of bed but I read the news, my mail and such before deciding that I need to shower before the kiddo got up.
0820 // And here we go...the Monster is up. Breakfast time!
0900 // We get dressed and play until it's time to go.
1030 // Church. Addie happily goes to the nursery, that sure is nice that she doesn't scream when we drop her off. When we leave church it's snowing pretty good. Everything is starting to get slick, I have to get gas, and I didn't wear the right shoes for snow walking.
1200 // We get back home safe and sound and have some lunch.
1230 // We finish lunch and I decide to let her play for a little longer instead of going straight for a nap. Naps have been a little touch lately so it's time to start trying different things to see what works best as far as timing. I take this opportunity to do a little reading.
1258 // Here goes nothing. Nap time. Luckily it's quiet almost immediately. So of course I curl up on the couch with some pretzels and the Olympics. (Unfortunately it's a frustrating battle. We have digital bunny ears and they don't want to work with me. It keeps cutting out and freezing. It makes me sad...)
1500 // I had fallen asleep during the last hour, but when I woke up I was surprised that it was three already and realized I needed to get up to make the pizza dough for dinner tonight. We are having our favorite - homemade pizza - to celebrate the end of drill.
1558 // It was not a happy wake up, but an awesome nap. After settling down, we head to the family room for more playing and more Olympics.
1730 // Daddy gets home. Happy times for all
1830 // We are finished eating, so Daddy and Addie do some playing
1930 // Daddy's doing bedtime tonight. Mama's off the hook. It's the same as every night: snack, lotion, pajamas, teeth brushing, reading, and bed. Then we get the rest of our evening to ourselves. We watch a little Olympics, we watch a little Netflix. Then bed.
Well that's our weekend. I told you it wasn't much different than a typical day. But there you have it. Our drill weekend.
