You are now the size of a nectarine. You are about 3 1/2 inches long and you just keep getting heavier. You are growing so fast for sure. This week you are now straightening out more with includes your neck getting longer. You have now started sprouting hair all over your body which is called languo which will remain for the rest of your time in there which will help keep you warm. Your intestines are now producing meconium and you are producing white blood cells which will help you fight off infections.
two days in a row without throwing up at this point. The crankiness seems to be continuing on into this week for sure. I think it's just part of being tired. I notice that the days that I do get sick just drain me. I don't seem to have anything left. I don't know if it's just because I'm also juggling two kids or it's just because I'm older but I definitely struggle with being drained after throwing up. I have noticed more of a belly. I'm still in that middle ground where I could just be chubby which makes me uncomfortable but I have definitely noticed the changes in my body.
I'm not going to lie, I was pumped about hitting the second trimester. For one I had hope that the throwing up would end and I would start feeling better. And the bigger reason is that I hit a major milestone which meant my chances of a miscarriage would go down even more! I knew just hearing the heartbeat at 12 weeks meant that the odds were definitely in my favor and we were set for smooth sailing but it was hard to forget about the past. I seemed to always struggle in the first couple of weeks but once we heard a heartbeat and got past a certain point I didn't seem to have any problems. But there was definitely some peace of mind once I entered the second trimester. Not to mention the hope that I would finally start feeling better and the throwing up would come to an end. With Addison I definitely didn't feel better into my second trimester but with Connor I did. So all I can do is hope that I will actually start feeling better and maybe even get a little more energy back now that I'm in the second trimester. A girl can hope.
