Connor's hair is so thick and grows so fast, so it makes sense that we have regularly been taking him to get his haircut. But with Addison, I feel like we can get away with her hair longer. Plus it took her so long to get hair in the first place that she just never really needed it (also her hair is really fine like mine. I wish my hair was as thick as Connor's!).
The other reason we put off even getting her hair trimmed was because she didn't want it trimmed. Or better put, she was scared of getting it trimmed because she was sure it was going to hurt. At one point she told us she would watch Connor's haircut then decide if she wanted to get her hair cut. Way to through your little brother to the wolves, kid!
After she got over the hurt part of it, she was just afraid we would cut it short. Her experience with haircuts are really seeing the boys go from having shaggy hair to all the sudden it being pretty short. So she was afraid that we would just cut all of her hair off and she wanted to keep it longer.
But Connor needed another haircut so we convinced her to get her hair trimmed. I told her all I wanted to do was get it evened out on the bottom. She was hesitated but agreed. But of course let Connor go first when we actually went in for the hair cut.
Truthfully Addison's hair is always pretty crazy but really just needed to be evened out at the bottom. But Connor's, as you can see, was long and over his ears and getting into his eyes. And his hair was long enough to be able to put up in a ponytail which definitely means it's time to do something about it.
So I finally got my act together and made them appointments to get it taken care of. Like I said, Connor went first and he just sat there like a pro. Although at one point there was a lot of screaming from another kid going on behind him and he got a little worried about that but otherwise he just wanted Paw Patrol.
Addison was a little bit more nervous but we promised her it was only a trim. The lady cut off her longer little curl and put it in a bag for me then proceeded to just cut off the ends to make it even then Addie was done.
Then they were done. As Connor say, easy peezy lemon squeezy. And they looked better. Addison's a pretty settle change so it was definitely harder to tell but I could tell and it looked better. And of course Connor didn't look like a mess on the verge of a mullet so that's always good.
It always seems like it's an adventure to get a haircut, no matter if it's one of them or both of them or soon to be three of them. It's not my favorite thing to do but it's gotta be done and now I can see faces again and we have manageable hair again!
Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday!
