I Did Finally Do It Myself - well, kinda.

Well, I think we should all be happy to know that I completed a couple of DIY projects. Although
small and not much I can do in an apartment to change the look, I think it helped. Our apartment seems to have a very brown and black look to it. Although I think it looks nice, I needed color. Being here as much as I am, I need to have an accent color to make it look better. Here’s what it looked like before:

It looks very blah and as the first thing you see when you walk in. I didn’t like that. I love how our living room looks and how it’s put together but the front entryway didn’t do it for me. So through little convincing I talked Rob into getting a few things to clean the place up. And here’s how it ended up:

It’s not like night and day but in some aspects it is. It looks more put together and organized and it just is cleaner. The mirrors add a touch. I love them. We got all seven in a pack for only $20. The bowl was also from Target for $2. In the bowl is Honeysuckle potpourri for $10, also from Target. I already owned the pile of books. The ‘E’ came plain woodened from Hobby Lobby and we just painted it in stripes. Taping off the areas we didn’t want to paint then switching once it was dry. The baskets were also a new addition, from target for about $10 each. The white curtains also came from Target and were about $16. The whole project didn’t cost much and was easy but it makes a world of difference. It’s much lighter and more us when you walk in, plus more organized and clean. I like the change even though it’s small and fairly simple. J
