Okay, so not the prettiest sandwich. I haven't got the art down of making my food look like heaven, but at least it doesn't taste awful. Well, not exactly awful at least, but there is definite room for improvement.
It's a pretty simple meal actually. Grilled Chicken and Pineapple Sandwich. There is nothing complication about that. You literally grill the chicken (spreading lime juice over it occasionally) and grill the pineapple, toast the bun and you have a meal.
We had a couple of different problems with this meal. The biggest problem is that we don't actually own a grill because we just live in an apartment so we used the George Foremen grill that Rob's brother gave us for Christmas. I've had mixed experiences with the grill - mostly because of my own cooking handicap - but this meal is not one to cook on this kind of grill. So we decided this is a meal to wait until we have a real grill and it will be ten times better. Our second problem was that we were supposed to have toasted buns. Well, being the quick and easy person that I am I just wanted to pop it into the toaster and that be that instead of warming up the oven. The meal was ready by that time and we didn't want to wait for the oven. Well, our toaster I think died last night a horrible, smelly, kinda smoky death. (So someone please get us that toaster we registered for at Target for the wedding!). So we had no toasted buns. I can see why they suggest a toasted bun because the bun gets a little tough and doesn't fall apart when you pick it up.
All in all, the meal was good. We definitely learned a few things about this meal and how we can improve on it. I guess we'll just have to wait until we have a house and a grill of our own to attempt this one again.
