Hey peeps out there in blog world! Seems like all my blogs lately have been about food or DYI or about how we are trying to make things better in the apartment. (Which by the way is way more homey, but I'm not here to talk about that now). In fact, I am here to talk about you....Okay, so no I'm not. I'm lying. But I just thought I would check in and give an update on what's been up in the Evans household.
Rob's annual training went good. He...well I wouldn't say "had a good time"....but he had a decent time. Things went well. Or at least as far as I know, things went well and he's back home safe and so that's good. He went back to work and has been doing a lot of that (who isn't doing a lot of work lately? Oh, right that's me! hehe!). Anyway, he did take me a Silver Dollar City last weekend for my birthday. But more than that, on Thursday which was my birthday, he stayed home from work, which I didn't know about, and he took care of some things I was worried about getting done and he even had an apple pie baking for me when I got home from work. And he got me a pair of shoes I really wanted. He's a pretty good guy. But he's good. He's really good. Just doing his thing.
As for me, I worked two jobs while he was gone and am so happy to be back to one again. I like my life here. I enjoy the pace we live at. I turned 25 last Thursday. Can you believe that? I'm a quarter of a century old! How is that even possible? I feel like I should still be in high school or college or something. I'm like a real grownup now. Weird! This grownup hasn't had a lot going on. I work at the church, which I love my zero stress job. I go home, I clean up, I play the Sims, I watch Grey's Anatomy (which I have totally gotten addicted to), I make dinner. Speaking of dinner, I have been kicking butt at cooking lately. Things have just been real good. Who knew I could cook all this time? I still don't feel completely comfortable around the kitchen but I'm getting there. I'm still learning. I stop working out lately because there was some weird stuff going on, but I want to start back up in the next couple days again, but this time I'm going to attempt me some Jillian yoga. Sounds daring! It is and I'm totally excited to try something new!
And of course I can't leave out the most important member of the family. I only say that because most of the time she thinks she is and because this morning she was because she killed a big bug. She tortured it first. But she killed it. So that makes her pretty important today at least. That even almost makes up for the fact that she wouldn't stop crying this morning.
Our air conditioning broken while we were gone to SDC, but they put in a whole new unit and it's working beautifully now. The upstairs neighbor's utility closet is still leaking pretty bad, but we have our bucket there now. Apparently, they changed the locks on their door so maintenance couldn't get in to fix it. So much scandal!
Silver Dollar City was fun. It was hot. We spent all day Friday there. We went down in Marvel Cave, which I highly recommend. I forgot how cool it is down there. It was well worth the walk. (although my calves were killing me the next day). And the other thing I will say about our trip: I beat the Marine. Yes, that's right. Wait now, I didn't physically beat him. We were on the Bang-Bang right (the Flooded Mine), which for those of who you don't know is a shooting ride. So you just shot at targets of this "flooded" mine with all these prisoners and you get points on your gun. Very basic. Well, I'm not a great shot. I'm a horrible shot in fact, but I love this ride. And he always kicks my butt, but I actually beat him. It doesn't even matter to me that we had to ride it again so he could get back his title of winner of all shooting games. All I needed was one time beating him. So much joy! :)
Oh and today is two months of being hitched. Still going strong ---- as if there was any doubt! :)
