Another book dead and gone...wait that's book nine in the series. But seriously another book finished. I really am just flying through these books this year. I'm seriously thinking of upping my reading goal. Any thoughts? I'll mull it over and make my decision this evening.
This time Sookie is sent to Jackson in search of Bill - he's gone missing. She is sent with Alcide, who turns out to be a werewolf, but can get into the local club so she can find more information. Problems ensue when she goes to this club. Alcide's ex-girlfriend (a shapeshifter) is there announcing her engagement to another man but is extremely jealous. Sookie also finds herself face-to-face with a member from a werewolf gang, who pushes himself onto her which results in a fight. The were gets kicked out of the club, but the problem is is that he shows up dead in Alcide's apartment closet later, and now they have to deal with the body.
After returning to the club, by request of the king of Mississippi, Sookie gets staked saving one of the vampires and is taken back to the king's mansion. It is at the king's mansion that Bill is being held and tortured for this computer program he has been working on. Sookie (with the help of Eric who is in disguise) must find a way to save him without getting caught.

So not the best description of the book, but hey I feel pretty lousy today so that's probably the best you will actually get out of me. It was good. I'm a fan of Alcide's character. I like him, so this is one of my favorites because of his character. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it. And I only have like seven or eight more to go until I'm caught up with the series. I have enjoyed these books - but it makes you wonder, how much more can go wrong in this woman's life?
