The One Where We Want Someone to Rent Our Apartment

We have this amazing two bedroom, one bathroom, middle floor, spacious kitchen, fireplace, and walk-in closet apartment that needs a new tenant. It's tired of us. It wants nothing more to do with us. It's ready to part ways with us. It needs some new life. Some new people. Some new adventures. We're much too boring for this exciting apartment.

You sold on it yet?

I hope so. Or at least maybe you could sell someone else on our apartment. Let me start by saying, that yes according to anyone who lives or are from the Missouri side, Kansas is the enemy. And even more specifically, Johnson County is the enemy. It's a rich enemy to boot! But Olathe is nothing like what you think of as the enemy when you picture Johnson County. As long as you stay out of Overland Park then it's basically the same as being on the other side of the state line. (To any Overland Park readers - your city is really pretty!)

But hey, maybe you're not planning on switching sides - maybe instead you already live here. Either way, we have a great apartment, and we really need to get our apartment rented to someone else. It's no secret that I don't like apartment living, but there is nothing bad about this specific apartment. In fact, the staff is really nice. Maintenance responds quickly to any problems you might have. There is laundry in the building. The kitchen is actually amazingly big for an apartment (and even bigger than some of the houses we've seen). You can have dogs (up to 25 pounds I believe) and cats (if you have a 25 pound cat then maybe you should get a laser pointer and make it run a little). And even better, the yappy dog I complained back endlessly last year is gone so you definitely won't be listening to that!

So that reason why we want to move out of this apartment that I've almost sold myself on again is that we plan to get a house. The plan has always been for this spring/summer to get a house, but we have this apartment under us that we would love to be gone. And if we find someone to rent our specific apartment than we don't have to pay what remains on our lease without actually living there. Did I mention our lease is up in October? I'm not going to into details about how we planned to get a house this spring/summer and yet we have our apartment until October.

By getting it leased out to someone else, that would save us from having to pay mortgage and rent (for a place we aren't living) at the same time. And we're all about not wasting money so really hope to find someone to help us out. We have no plans to actually do a subletting thing, although the apartment complex does permit that. We hope to find someone to just rent the apartment when we're done with it. But of course we do hope to sweeten the deal at least a little by paying for the person's/family's application fee, plus the first month's rent. Which could turn out to be an amazing deal because they often work out a deal where you get a month free just for moving in. So potentially you could pay nothing for two months. That's a pretty sweet deal, right? We hope it's sweet enough to find someone to help us out of this frustrating situation.

So now that I have rattled on for awhile about our sob story, I figured I could at least show you the floorplan (thanks to Deerfield Apartments), plus a couple pictures what you would be getting. Really make you want to live here. I was going to some hypothesis and convince a couple of you (a couple for backups too, just in case) that you want to move out here to Olathe and to our apartment, but as it turns out it's a little hard to do over a blog post, plus I have no idea how to use hypothesis - maybe I'll practice for next time I need something from my readers. So you ready for my big - less exciting than hypothesis - finale?
