Let Them Eat Cake

This phase was supposedly said by Queen Marie Antoinette in responsive to hearing that the peasants had no bread during one of the great famines in France. There is actually no proof of this and the words appeared in Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions (his autobiography) and his account of his desire for bread to go with the wine he had stolen. The phase, "Qu'ils mangent de labrioche", was supposedly spoken by "a great princess" or so Rousseau wrote in his book.

But you didn't really come here for a history lesson. Although I do love me some history. I also love me some cake. So in our case let us eat cake would probably be a more appropriate statement. And that we did. For our one year anniversary. It was too bad we had to spend our anniversary moving into our house, so we didn't actually get any cake on the actual day. But we did get to eat our wedding cake one year and one day later. Sometimes you gotta taken what you can get.

We were told by countless people that the cake is probably not going to be good on our one year anniversary and stories of how bad their cake was. But we had hope. We had faith in our cake. We originally got our cake from The Bridal Kitchen, which I swear by. It was amazing in tasting and from what I hear it was amazing on our wedding day (I didn't get any but the small bite I did get was delicious). All I know is that if you need a cake for anything then check her out. She is AWESOME! When we went in, she told us to follow her directions for freezing the cake and it will be just as delicious or we can go get a new one from her. She swore by it! And The Bridal Kitchen did not fail us.

It was delicious!

Too bad I can't share with all you readers out there - I know there are some doubters amongst you, but I swear it was delicious and it was the perfect end to a crazy couple of days. If you don't mind my crazy hair - it was hot and windy - I thought I would at least share some pictures (second best to cake right?). So enjoy us enjoying our wedding cake one year and one day later:
