Now to some of you that may not be all that exciting, but to others of you who still have all those stupid loans lurking about you understand. I have been looking forward to getting rid of this loan since I first started paying on it. And even more so because I am not using my degree. Although I do have a history day calendar so I get a bit of history each day - but still not really using it. I still hope to use it one day, but that's still pretty far off in the future, so who knows what will happen. What I do know is that I will no longer be carrying around that loan!
However, being the responsible adults that we are, we have decided instead of just spending that extra money, we are taking everything we were paying and now putting that towards our car loan. And after doing some rough calculations (math is not my strong suit - I do have a history degree after all), we could have our car loan paid off by December of 2014. Four years ahead of when it was supposed to be paid off. And if we get that paid off then all we have left is our mortgage. And at this point we are going on vacation! : )
Needless to say, the car loan being paid off is still in the future a ways, but not my student loan. Today is the day my friend that that loan disappears from my life forever!
