This is a big, big thing! A huge thing! Previously I told you that I had yet to complete 30 Day Shred, even though I have started this dang workout several times (read about that here) . But this time I was determined. I walked into this with a different mindset. So as you can probably guess by the title, I finally did it! I finally completed this workout, which as kicked my butt multiple times. But this time I kicked its flat little...disk...? Whatever, you get it!
So how do I feel? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! How do you feel after you conquer something that you hadn't been able to before or thought you couldn't? I bet you feel pretty amazing too!
I had a plan when I started this workout to do each level for two each, and I work out five days a week which means it ended up being 30 days total that I worked out with this workout. When I first started level one, I quickly remembered why I always gave up before. I was getting quickly discouraged, but I kept pushing through. I did notice that I was a bit stronger than any other time I had done this before. Maybe that had something to do with the face that I have been carrying a 19-pound baby up and down stairs all the time! Either way, by the time I finished my two weeks at level one I was feeling amazing and ready but so not ready at the same time to move on to level two.
Even though I got through the two weeks at level one, I was ready to give up when I started level two. I was getting frustrated. I wasn't seeing a different anymore. I didn't see the point anymore. I didn't feel like I was moving forward. I wanted to quit but at the same time i didn't want to. Seriously, what is it about this workout?
But I did figure out why I was feeling this way a few days before I started level three. I realized that I had stopped pushing myself somewhere along the way. I was just going through the motions. I was just doing it because I had to. I lost sight of why I was doing this. I stopped challenging myself. I also stopped setting short-term goals for myself, so of course I couldn't see how it was making a difference. But after figuring out what my problem was and why I was feeling the way I was, I started pushing myself more. I started doing advanced moves. I remembered why I was doing this. And just like that I started feeling better. And before I knew it was on to level three.
I had never made it this far before so this alone was a huge accomplishment. So I was truthfully surprised by how easy this level seemed. There was less weight work, and much more ab work and just using your own body weight. I did my best to push myself for the two weeks because I knew this was it. This was the it for me and 30DS. And actually this is the level I am probably most proud of myself about. I did the advanced moves for almost all the exercises. I pushed myself the hardest throughout this level. I really did move than I thought I could or ever thought I be able to do.
I am so proud that I did so well but really I am just so proud that I even just finished this work out. I definitely had to push myself because more than once I remembered why I had always given up, but I was definitely more determined than willing to give up this time. This time I wasn't going down without a fight and it turns out I won!
Oh and this workout definitely made a difference. See!
Oh, wait, wrong set of pictures! Maybe next time but I'm not quite ready to reveal all the changes from all the work I have done yet. I'm keeping that to myself at least for now.
