Addison Sophia: 7 Months

Dear Addie:

Hey Tater Tot! Didn't you just turn 6 months? Someone is seriously messing with me. I guess spending every day with you just makes time fly by, and with flying time comes aging. And with aging means that you are another month older. You are 7 months! 7 months ago you had just come into the world. That seems unbelievable that you weren't in the world 7 months ago. I barely remember a time before you. I don't mean that in a bad way. Other than not being able to go the movies at the drop of the hat, not that much has changed. In fact, kiddo, you have definitely made our lives better. Much better than we ever thought they could be. We just didn't know what we were missing before you.

You have changed so much in the last month. There seems to be so much. The biggest thing is that you are rolling over like crazy now. You were rolling over before but nothing like what you are doing now. The only problem is that you are just rolling from your back to your tummy and you refuse to roll back. I've seen you do it but you are stubborn. But on the plus side once you are on the tummy, you have started scooting some, mostly in a circle but it's scooting all the same. Every once in awhile you get a knee under you but you have no clue what to do from there. You are definitely going to be moving in no time. How is that possible?

You have been sitting unassisted, and you love it. You don't want help and you don't want to lean back. If you are leaning back, you have been pulling yourself up to a sitting position. You are also reaching for toys. You used to just randomly flail and you would come up with a toy you randomly grabbed but now you are more definite in your moves. You know what you what and there is often something you want to do, and often times you get frustrated because you can't do it yet or figure out how to do it but you are trying. One of your favorite things is to grab toys in the bathtub. No more infant tub for you. Instead you sit in the bumbo seat in the tub for baths. You reach around and grab toys. You especially like taking whatever toys I pick up.

You haven't said anything yet, but every time I ask you if you can say mama or dada, you give me a big smile. That is just one of many things that make you happy. You are often entertained by Stella. You laugh at random things now. You don't have to be entertained all the time now, but you are just as content to play by yourself and entertain yourself. You are just the happiest little girl. When we go out, people are always talking about you.

On a less than happy point, you have been teething. The teething is good. We like teeth, but the cranky that comes with the teeth isn't so fun. You have one bottom tooth pretty much all the way up and a second that has cut through. But now a top tooth is cutting through and that one has been much more painful than the bottom teeth so far. That hasn't been so pleasant, but we're getting through it.

I love spending every day with you. I love seeing you grow up. I love seeing how much you have changed. I love seeing you figure stuff out. I love seeing you have new milestones. You are amazing. You are beautiful. You are the best little girl with an amazing personality. I love you, tater tot!

Love, Mama
