Last Tuesday, she crawled for the first time. I had gone back to exercising (you can read about that here) and had not had the chance to do it before Little Miss was up for the day. So she played on the floor while I was working out, and before I knew it she was at my feet reaching for my shoelace. She didn't make it far before she collapsed to her tummy. But that didn't matter. She had crawled. Of course she probably had no idea what she had done, but I sure was excited. I paused my DVD and gave her lots of praise. But she didn't repeat her new skill for the rest of the day. It was starting to look just like the rolling all over, where she only did it once in a blue moon and only for me..
But the next day she cam crawling another shot. Unfortunately this didn't end so well for her since she knocked her high chair tray on her head. It let to a lot of crying and me frantically washing raw chicken off my hands. It all ended okay in the end, however, she wasn't so willing to crawl the rest of the day.
It wasn't until the next day that she finally showed off what she could do to her daddy. However, the farthest she wanted to go was to get her toy. We were starting to think that maybe she didn't really realize what she was doing yet and therefore was just getting her toys and that was enough. But by the weekend she was moving more, exploring more. Granted, she moved the speed of a snail but she was moving. She was starting to explore and making it very clear that what exactly needs to be baby proofed.
Of course she still does a lot more of this....
But every day she grows stronger. She pushes her limits. She moves faster. I'm thrilled she has started crawling, but at the same time it means a lot more work for me. I think it's just awesome how much she is growing and changing. I can't believe she's on the move now! Yikes! I, also, can't believe she's going to be one year in just over one month! Double yikes!
