Defying Gravity has become so much more than I ever imagined. It has changed quite a bit over the years. It started out much like a journal - eek! - and turned into a way to follow our family, to follow our lives. I have opened our home and lives up to the blog world without knowing who was reading, and for some reason people keep coming back for more. I have shared my experience learning to cook, our wedding, our honeymoon, my pregnancy, buying a house, our home improvement projects, promotions, childbirth, and beyond.
And now are you ready for an incredibly high number?
24,889
That is the number of pageviews to date that Defying Gravity has received. Ready for another number?
577
That is the number of posts I have posted to date - not counting this one, so I guess 578 now. And another.
80
The number of views for my most popular post this year. To some bloggers that's nothing but to this little ol' blogger that's a lot. However that excitement is definitely bitter sweet. The post, A Farewell, was a post about the passing of my grandpa and a celebration of just the small portion of his life as I knew it. My second highest post at 71, Almost Makes Me Want To Do Laundry, is about painting the laundry room (confused me too but readers like what they like....?). And coming in in third place at 64 is She's Her Father's Daughter, a collection of faces Addie could only have gotten genetically from her father.
From last year to this year, it has been one crazy ride, but I wouldn't change it for the world. So now I want to thank you all for continuing to come back time and time again. I didn't realize I was all that interesting. Okay, so maybe it's not me at all, but my kid is pretty cute. That's it isn't it? You are just dying to see what
Well, if you want cute then I'll bring the cute. We got all kinds of cute in this house....
Much better. Well, here's to another year of blogging. I hope you stick with me - I mean you've come this far don't you want to know where the story goes next?
