Nine on the Ninth

1. Did you ever wonder where Barnes & Noble came up with the name Nook for their reader thing? You should read Dr. Seuss's One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. I'll give you a hint: There was Nook who had a hook cook book which he tried to read...

2. I just learned from Sharkando that if you throw a bomb into a tornado then you can equalize it. That's what we, in the Midwest, have been doing wrong. We should probably thank those in California who figuring it out for us. We just need to start dropping bombs into our tornadoes and everything will be fine. Let's get it together, people! (I also learned that sharks can fly!)

3. I had a cold over New Years. It wasn't a huge deal because we didn't have any crazy plans, but it was still a bummer. Which got me thinking - this was the first time I have been sick since before Addison was born. That's a long time of not being sick and I gotta say, I really liked it. I fought how much having something as simple as a cold really sucks.

4. A couple of Sundays ago, we dropped Addison off at the nursery like normal. She cried a little at first but got over it quickly. When service was over, we were walking to the nursery and could hear her crying. I got to the door where she had her back to us and was hitting a plastic tub over and over and said "Addison Sophia." She turned around quickly, big tears in her eyes. She stopped once I picked her up. The ladies said that she had just started crying in the last minute or so. She crawled to the tub and decided she had to get into it and was crying and all upset when she couldn't. Addie's a bit weird sometimes, but you gotta love her!

5. Buying a purse is a very stressful thing for me.

6. Addison was up between 4 am and 6 am two nights ago. I forgot how exhausting that is. It's not so bad if you expect it from a newborn, knowing what is coming. But once your kid has been sleeping through the night for months it is really hard to deal. That doesn't stop me from wanting more kids. I definitely want more and I'm excited about more, despite the sleep deprivation. I just don't like when my 14-month old decides that playtime is 4-6 am.

7. This probably won't be winning me any mother-of-the year awards but when I sit on the floor with Addison, and she insists on putting her toys in my lap and playing, it drives me crazy. Mostly because she isn't completely stable standing so she spends a good chunk of time crashing into my face with things. I don't know why it just eats at me, but it does. Like I said, no mother of the year awards...

8. All the blogs I have been read on a regular basis are all talking about organizing now that it's January. Is January national organize month? Should I be feeling inspired to take all the stuff out of my cabinets in my kitchen and reorganize and purge? Who has enjoy for that?! I may only have one kid but she is in an antsy stage and I have been struggling to keep up with her lately. Who knew that 14 month olds were so exhausting?! This tired mama is definitely not feeling inspired to organize!

9. I'm looking forward to a week from tomorrow. This weekend is drill so Friday we aren't having pizza, but a week from tomorrow we are ordering Papa John's pizza, which means I don't have to cook and we watch a movie. Plus, we always get the pizza after Addison goes to bed - she eats something else for dinner - so it's even more relaxing. I just have to make it through the next week first (with no weekend break).
