But then Addison got sick. It was the first time in 15 months (just in case you weren't keeping up, she is 15 months which means this is the first time she's been sick). It's been a tough week. She was cranky. Her nose was constantly runny. She was up and down at night and during naps coughing. It has been all around rough. So Rob and I decided that we should postpone our date until Addison started feeling better before Saturday. I called up my parents again and checked to see if the next weekend might be available. Turns out, they were so we decide to postpone for a week until she was feeling better.
Then suddenly, I got sick. Whatever Addison had, she felt it was important for me to have too. But with all the snort she wiped on me and all the coughing she did in my face, it was doubtful that I wasn't going to actually come down with something. It started with just my throat hurting then turned into a cough then into the whole thing with my nose runny then stuffy then runny. My head started pounding and I wanted nothing more than to lay in bed and not more. Luckily for me it was on Saturday that all this hit me the worse, so Rob was around to deal with the still sick little girl.
It made me pretty happy that we postponed out date for another week. Feeling like this would not have been much of a date. But we decided that we could still make it a date night of a sort. It would be a at-home date after the kid went to bed.
So while I got the kid to bed, Rob headed out to pick up takeout Chinese (we found a place that we LOVE!). Then we set up our "table" and settled in with our food and movies, and that's exactly how we spent the evening. It wasn't exactly what our original plan was for the night and I'm still excited about our actual date next week, but it was still a great way to spend a Saturday evening.
