We called on our trusty, amazing babysitters (thanks grandma and papa!). I went out and actually got my hair done this year. It was really nice not having to worry about what I wanted to do with it, which is very limited. I'm not a hair person. And if there's ever an occasion to have some fancy hair, this would be it. So I spent an hour of my day getting my hair done, which was more than worth it.
The truth is that these aren't the best pictures. That's what happens when you trust the military man in your life who doesn't care about hair to take pictures of your hair. Learned my lesson...
It was pretty though and I loved it.
I managed to snap some pictures of my handsome husband in uniform getting ready. He then of course proceeded to do the 360 view of him. He looks dashing, doesn't he?!
As for me, I loved my dress this year...
I love these shoes. I wear them every year to the ball and they are probably the favorite thing I wear. They comfortable, they are cute, and I think they're funny.
And of course after getting ready we took some pictures together.
As per usual, the hall where the ball was held was beautiful. The tables were basically sparkling.
We had great company at our table just as last year. The ceremony was great and the guest of honor kept his speech nice and short. The food was delicious. We even danced a little. All around it was a great night. We really enjoyed our evening out.
After leaving we decided we wanted some ice cream, so on our way home we stopped by Dairy Queen. We ordered and headed to the window. The guy did a double take at Rob dressed all handsomely in his Dress Blues which made us laugh. He then asked if we wanted lids, which was definitely. After we got our ice cream and were leaving I was looking at the receipt and noticed that the guy gave us a 10% civil servant discount. Made the ice cream even better.
All around it was a good night. I love getting dressed up, accompanying my handsome husband to the ball and celebrating the Marines and all that they do.
Happy birthday, Marines! You don't look a day over 200!
