August Doodling

I know it's halfway through September and I am just now getting around to posting about my doodles for August. Before I get too far about it, I will mention that I am no longer doodling in my bullet journal. It was just taking up too much room with my to-do lists so I decided to get another notebook that is mention for doodling and handlettering and other monthly challenges. At some point I will get into more details about the notebooks I am currently using. But for now here's a sneak peek at two of my favorite pages from August. I did a photo challenge and that colored pencil picture is my very favorite.

Anyway on to the doodles. I decided to keep doing the doodling challenge because surprisingly I loved doodling. If you know me at all then that is probably quite surprising because I have never been big in drawing. Art class was definitely not my favorite. But I'm trying to grow as a person and all that, so I took this on last month (Read about it here.)

Personally I think I'm getting better at doodling although I still have my rushed or duds. But first here are some of my favorites.

Sandwich - This is not an original idea but one I found and copied online. I think it turned out pretty good.

Sunflower - I even used watercolor pencils which was really fun and I love how this flower turned out.

I think the prompt was double. I had no idea what to draw so I went with umbrellas for some reason and I really like how they turned out.

 Fitness - I also copied this one from online. But I didn't want to go with the traditional weights or equipment and I love this this turned out. Especially in light of the fact that I am terrible at different angles and perspective. I'm working on it!

Toothfairy - She is holding a tooth, not a cloud just for the record. Rob thought it was a cloud but it's not. I took inspiration from a picture online but I have never draw a person before and I'm loving how she turned out.

Gnome - I love him. He's so adorable!

On to the duds or at least my least favorite pictures. There were pictures that I was just completely uninspired or just plain struggled with and often times just gave up and didn't keep pushing to make it better.

Plane - Yeah I hate this drawing. I literally used the word plane to draw this plane and yikes! It definitely didn't turn out like I was hoping. I ended up giving up because it just keeping worse.

Scene - I used my favorite picture from Kennebunkport. Yup, this isn't what Kennebunkport looks like...

Cake....

Rocket - I tried something different and it didn't work. I ended up hating it. Also the inky look is because while putting my pages together for August, I dropped the ink pad on the page...oops

So there you have it. August doodles. I'm pretty happy with how most of my doodles went this month. I dare say I'm even getting better. September is going even better.
