But today is all about my little goon. And just some things I have learned about being the mom of a little boy and some of his weirder but adorable things he does.
Recently the hubs decided that it was too warm for Connor wear both his long sleeved pajama top and his long pants to bed so he started leaving him in just the pajama shirt and a diaper. I thought it was weird and something nagged at me to put him in pants but I let it be. Well yesterday morning it was proven to me why we should have put the pants on. I walk into his room to find his bare bum in the air. The boy got the diaper off - no clue how long it had been off - and there he was. I had a little mess to clean up but a good laugh out of it. Never had a diaper-taking-off monster in Addison but we do in Connor. Lesson learned - the boy needs pants.
He also a big fan of dancing. That boy just loves to move. I just mention tap dancing to him and he gets his feet going. He grooves to whatever music and always wants to dance along with anyone who is willing to dance at that moment. I got to admit that I really do love it. I'm not sure I'm raising a Fred Astaire but the boy has some serious moves.
He is impulsive. I knew whatever kid we had second was always going to be drastically different than Addison because of her delays and regression but I never expected to be faced with such an impulsive kid. He gets something in his mind and he goes for it - bad plan or not. And let's just be honest a lot of his plans are bad, but he still kicking and he's learning. Well kind of - he's a smart boy but he repeats the same actions over and over a lot.
There isn't a pillow he doesn't love. A chair he won't sit in. I mean seriously he loves just climbing up and just sitting in a chair almost as much as he loves tackling a pillow. And when I say tackle I mean tackle because the boy leads with his head. It's insane and I'm surprised his nose isn't completely flat yet because truthfully it doesn't matter if it's a pillow or not, he tends to lead with his head. But luckily mostly he only dives randomly on pillows and he's pretty tough.
He is all over the place all the time and pretty much always keeps me on my toes. I don't think the boy has stopped moving since he first started walking. He is pretty fearless actually which of course makes me nervous pretty much always but we will just call him an adventurous spirit.
But probably one of my favorite things he does - which there is a lot in all fairness - is he becomes a fish. I know I have talked briefly about it before and I have also shared a picture before. He will randomly for no apparent reason flop on the floor on his belly with his arms by his side. Then he will flop a few times on the ground before he just gets up. We call him a fish and it's pretty funny. Every morning when I go get him and he flops around his crib a few times before he's ready to get up. Sometimes if we call him a fish randomly, he will flop on the ground a few times before getting up and going back to whatever he was doing.
