As we have for the last few dates we decided to have the dinner that they had planned. And we were shocked how much we liked this meal too. It was farro with veggies and mozzarella, creamed kale, a raspberry and basil drink and lemon cookies.
We really liked this entire meal, although food photographer I am not. We loved this meal. This was the first time I actually liked kale but I guess that's just it being cooked in cream. Yum.
This was the first time we were able to have our date without Emma in the room and actually started our date before 10 pm. So that was definitely a nice change. The box included a candle, our snack which just turned out to be tea (a little disappointing by the way), a basil planter, and a deck of cards which had questions on one side and playing cards on the other side.
We started out by planting our basil. We weren't feeling great about its chances of survival between Stella and my black thumb but we did it anyway. It has started to sprout by the way and seems to be hanging in there now.
Our date then moved on to information about strangers feel like they have a closer connection after asking certain questions to each other so we were given those same questions to ask each other. It was fun, although some of those were silly because there were some questions clearly meant for people who were strangers and not for people who have been together for 10 years. But it was still fun and we laughed a lot.
Then it was time for the snack which was just tea. We tried it and I can confirm that I still don't like tea. Then we played war because that was only card game I knew. I lost. Rob then made me play Blackjack and it turns out I wasn't great at that either. But it was still fun.
Overall it was fun. The food for all our dates so far has been delicious and we have really liked it. And we have had fun just spending time together that doesn't involve movies or either of us having to do a ton of planning.
