Eight Years

Yesterday was our 8 year wedding anniversary and it's hard to believe that another one has come and gone. In some ways 8 years seems like such a long time and in other ways it really isn't that long at all. This fall also marks 10 years that we have been together which definitely feels like a long time. It's funny because we often talk about how it's hard to remember what things were like before we were together or  even try to remember what things were like when we were just dating. That seems like so long ago. Our favorite topic when we try to remember to those days were what did we eat?!

For the past month I have been seeing all these posts on Timehop leading up to the wedding. I saw me talking about my wedding dress. I saw me talking about not being able to wear my ring because we got my wedding band soldered on. I talked about RSVPs and flowers and all sorts of things. Coupled in there in other years were talks of babies and houses and normal life things. It's weird to think about my wedding and see it mixed in with just every day things (although pregnancies and new house are anything but every day things) like it is just something that happens every day. I felt like it spent so much time planning and leading up to the event and now it's just a memory of something that happened 8 years ago. 

The wedding might be just a memory but the marriage seems to be going good. We have definitely been through our fair share in 8 years. Marines. Miscarriages. Two house. Infertility. Three kids. Opening a shop. There has definitely been some mega life moments that has happened to us in our 8 years of marriage and I'm proud to say that we are still going as strong as ever. We have definitely changed from each of these moments but we were the couple that met online before that was really a thing. We were the couple that many doubted would make it because we meant online. But 8 years of marriage (10 years together) has proved them all wrong. 

I don't talk about Rob much or our relationship ever on the blog (although in all fairness I don't talk about anything much these days - massive writers' block?) but just know that we are good. Our marriage has changed over the years but he's still my best friend. He's still my person and the love of my life. He's still my favorite person and the one that always has my back no matter what. There may be more people in this family than there was 8 years ago but that at least hasn't changed.
