Well after trying out the B6 all in one notebook for the month of August, I have once again ended up back in a bullet journal. I just missed the creativity that comes with the bullet journal, plus being able to add pages in where I want them and how I want them. I also thought I would like having everything all in one. I had my shop planner, my fitness planner, meal planner, plus my everyday planner. But I don't know what it was, I just didn't. So I have split it all back up again. And let me just say that I have enjoyed being back in my bullet journal.
I was still subscribed to the Planner Press digital dashboard box so I used the images from there to set my theme for September. I have since stopped my subscription although I still love her stuff but with the bullet journal it's just so hard to find a reason to continue getting it when I don't have the best way to use it each month.
So here we go, a look into September. Basically if you have followed my past bullet journal posts then this will be a lot of the same since when you find something that works, why change it?!
I did change up my monthly spread by changing from the big calendar layout to this more traditional bullet journal spread. Although I like seeing the weeks laid out this is much simpler and seems to be working so far. I also liked the idea of continuing to combine as many different things into one spread as possible so having the habit tracker, goals and to dos all in one area. Plus it means no wasted space. It worked because I did it again for October (spoiler alert!).
I went back to my Memories pages which I like having to see the highlights (or sometimes lowlights) from the month. And yes I had a muscle biopsy done on my leg and eventually I will write a blog post all about it but I haven't got there yet. I also added a page to keep track of what was coming up with my shop. I have used it again for October but didn't keep it for November. I liked it but it seemed repetitive with the shop planner I have. But I did like it originally.
I also started out by using a weekly spread in my bullet journal which I have never really done before. I did it originally because I thought it would be useful to see everything from the week from everyday life stuff to shop stuff to Instagram posts I needed to post. I did a couple weeks of these in different varieties before I stopped finding I didn't ever use them.
I did keep up with my dailies because that's really what I use. But this time around I went to my shop planner and combine every day to dos in with my shop to dos so I could see everything I needed to do during the day instead of just one or the other. It gives me a better idea of how my day is looking and what I can actually accomplish.
Believe it or not I am still working on decluttering the house. It is slow going but I am still getting there. So I went back to a spread in here to track everything. But I haven't made much progress yet.
I added in a TV show tracker which I have had in different journals before. I have been watching Supernatural, plus rewatch Friends before it disappears from Netflix.
I like to have a place to put all those random things in my head that I need to take care of. This is more a long-term working on list because it sometimes takes a while to get back to this list and get things taken care of. But it's nice to have somewhere to put it.
About halfway through the month I decided to try out a cleaning calendar. I wanted to have a place to write down what I cleaned and when, so I knew when I did it last. But I didn't do great with cleaning or keeping up with it. I tried it again for October but then decided I didn't like it, plus I rarely used it.
Another thing I added back in was the reflections page at the end of the month. I don't know how long I will continue to do this but for now I'll keep with it. Sometimes these pages stress me out because I just don't know what to put, but really it doesn't matter if I put anything at all - it's my journal. But I thought maybe it would be a nice way to look back and see where I am right then.
And there we were. I've enjoyed being back into my bullet journal. Eventually I might share what I tried moving into for my fitness journal for awhile before just going back to what I did before. But for now even though it seems like a lot of planners (which in the planner world isn't a lot of planners at all!), it works for me and that's what's important.
