I haven't talked much about my workouts lately and that's because I have been doing a three month long program. I don't really have a reason why I didn't share my process along the way other than I have just been sharing less here as it is (but that's for another day to talk about).
But since I'm writing now I can now share that I have officially finished this workout and I couldn't be more proud of myself.
For the last 13 weeks I have been doing Body Revolution by Jillian Michaels. I had been wanting to do this program again because I really enjoyed this last time I did but I just never found a good time with my knee surgery and having a baby. But finally the stars aligned and I started it. Although I didn't really see the major differences I hoped to see, I definitely don't regret doing it. More than anything I am so proud of myself and sticking with it for all 13 weeks.
The first month was easy in a way because it was when I was first starting out so you have an excitement and the newness of the program that keeps you going. It definitely helps that you change workouts every two weeks, so it keeps it from getting dull. I definitely hated the first month of cardio but I stuck with it and by the end of those four weeks I was stronger and feeling better. I was able to do more and keep up better.
By month two I was definitely going through a rut. I was burnt out and it was hard in the way where I couldn't keep in at all. It was too hard and I didn't think I would ever improve. You didn't have the excitement of starting the program and you didn't have the excitement of almost being over. Month two is just a struggle with how hard it gets and just feeling stuck in it.
But by the time you get to the last month you realize how close you are completing it and for me I get excited and want to push through because I want to finish strong. When I did this program before I didn't really complete all 13 weeks. For one it wasn't until after I had finished it that I discovered it wasn't 12 weeks but 13 weeks. I had also not really done a great job the last few weeks of it because I had gotten sick and just mostly stopped.
This time I stuck with it. I had to take two weeks off during the last month, which is a terrible time to stop and have to pick it right back up again due to have a muscle biopsy done on my quad. But I got back to it and was really proud of myself for going back. I did get sick in there but I didn't stop. I just pulled back a bit and luckily when my sinuses were hit the worst it was the weekend so I got a little rest then. I just kept pushing through it all and by the time I hit the last week I was back to normal. I was really tired but I didn't have a sinus infection anymore.
Overall the 13 weeks went really well. I'm proud of what I did even if I didn't see huge improvements in my body. I still did see some and I worked hard. I can proudly say that I properly finished Body Revolution and earned those new shirts I bought myself!
