For some reason I never got around to posting about my bullet journal back in November so I'm combining the last two months in my bullet journal and I got to say that I changed how I did things in November and I am now back in love with bullet journaling.
If you remember I tried changing how I did things back in August but it didn't really work for me, so I ended up switching back to the bullet journal. I just like having notebooks. I'll talk about it when I get there but here we go into October.
The first few pages are pretty much the same. It has been working for me. I sometimes miss the calendar look but I definitely don't miss drawing it out. Plus I like having my habit tracker, goal, to dos and any notes all on the same page. It means I do a better job of keeping up with it all.
I decided to give this cleaning calendar a try to try to keep track of what I'm doing and when I did it. But I just didn't keep up with it. It just didn't work for me.
Like always I put together my memories spread and my blog post spread.
This was the last month that I tried keeping track of upcoming shop stuff in here. I just didn't need it in my bullet journal since I have a complete other planner for business stuff. I never referred to it here so it was not useful here. I also put together a spread for Addison's birthday party.
Because this was October and I like to watch Halloween/scary movies during this month I made a way to track what movies I watched. I don't love it as much as last year's but oh well it worked.
Then I went into my dailies like always. I kept with the same layout that I had been doing but I included a quote from whatever scary movie I watched that day. Because it was fun and different.
Sometimes I like to print out coloring pages that are on Pinterest to go with the theme of the month. I did two total this month and it was fun. On the other page I put together a library log to keep track of when things are due. We like to get movies from the library mostly but we haven't gotten anything else for awhile now so the spread went into disuse.
Sometimes my dailies are just really boring to look at it. But I guess sometimes it's just about having something practical and less about having something pretty despite what I would like it to be.
This was the week leading up to Addison's birthday party and the week right after I was involved in a planner sale so I had a lot on my plate this week. So I just put together a list of everything I needed to do this week to get it all off my mind then I would break it down per day and that worked really well. And of course there's my girl on her seventh birthday because somehow she is seven years old.
I also thought I would track online orders. I tried this once before and I had the same problem I had the last time I did this which was that I just didn't go back and update it, so it was always off. I wish there was a good way for me to keep up with things I ordered online but this doesn't seem to be it.
This is a pretty sparse spread but that's just how it goes sometimes. I didn't have anything to mark on that Saturday but I put together a spread because it was Addison's party and I wanted to put together something so I could post a picture at least.
I put these fitness rewards spread quite often, but I don't always keep up with it. I have a separate fitness journal/planner so that's really a better place to put something like this, which is my plan for 2020.
And then I ended the month with a family picture from Halloween.
I did a reflection page again before jumping into November. I didn't go with a picture this time around but used some monthly stickers that I have in my shop (I only wish I could letter like that). And this pretty cute fox that I traced using tracing paper because I can't draw either.
Again November was the same. I didn't finish my habit tracker this month though because the end of the month was just busy.
November is National Novel Writing Month which I have been doing for three years now. I keep a separate notebook where I have my outline, character information and such. I have a tracker there but I do always like to have one in my bullet journal too. It's just fun to go back and see when I go back through my bullet journals.
I started out the month with the old way I was making dailies but I didn't love it. But I didn't really know how to fix it so I just went with it for awhile.
Emma's birthday party spread was just like Addison's because it worked then so it worked again. I had to do it in November because her birthday is right at the beginning of December so I needed to start planning early.
I had played around with ideas of how to change up my dailies before I landed on this. I wanted a way to use more of my stickers and make each day more separate. It turned out I loved this and I have gone with this spread ever since. On the other page is the pages I need to edit in my pregnancy book from Emma. I like to keep track this way so I know which pages I have edited because otherwise I don't even slightly remember.
I am so in love with this way of doing dailies now.
I put together a spread to keep track of which cleaning I want to do on which days. I had envisioned one thing and this is something completely different. I am a little bummed it didn't turn out like I wanted but it worked. On the other page is a household binder I have been thinking of putting together to keep around the house. It's a project I haven't yet got to.
Another spread I did this year was Black Friday shopping sale. Of course I did a little black Friday shopping but I didn't use this spread at all.
Something I would like to do more of going forward is doing more projects around the house. I have been working on some ideas for our half baths. It seems less scary to take on because it's such a small room. But this project isn't going to start happening until next year so I ended up just copying this into my next bullet journal for 2020.
Another example of my new dailies. I honestly really like it. I like being able to stamp and use stickers. I like being able to be a little bit more creative.
I think every bullet journal has at least two packing list. This one was for our trip to Silver Dollar City over Thanksgiving. I do have a lose picture smashed in these pages because I didn't have enough room to glue in the picture so I just have it saved.
During the Thanksgiving break I didn't do much in those days except for add pictures from our trip. I like how those pages turned out and I always makes me smile to see them all.
Then as always I ended the month with reflections.
And that's a wrap up from the last two months. My December is definitely not traditional Christmas at all. But I still like it. I have really started to enjoy bullet journaling again with the new way I have been doing it with my dailies. It's all about playing with it until you find what works!
