So we had ourselves a pizza tonight. We love pizza so I figured we can't go wrong with another pizza. We love trying new kinds and this was definitely new. And I don't make things with enough meat so I decided to make pizza with meat. Seems like the logical fix.
Ingredients:
1 pound pizza dough
Cooking spray
2 (4-ounce) links turkey sausage
1 tablespoon oil from sun-dried tomatoes
4 oil-packed sun-dried tomtoes
6 (0.67 ounce) slices reduced-fat Provolone cheese
2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
Crushed red pepper (optional)
Directions:
Cook the sausage over medium-high heat until browned, stirring to crumble.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spread out pizza dough then put in the oven while it's preheating for about 10 minutes.
Cut up tomatoes.
After taking preheated crust from oven, start putting on topping. Rub with sun-dried tomatoes oil and sprinkle with sun-dried tomatoes. Layer with slices of cheese. Top with tomatoes and sausage.
Cook for about 8 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
A few notes:
*I pretty much had problems from the beginning. I got the wrong kind of turkey sausage. It still turned out okay but I didn't have the crumbles that I was supposed to have. Instead I had it up into smaller chunks and that seemed to work pretty good too.
