So yesterday I talked about the DIY projects I did in order to get Rob's Father's Day surprise ready. And just like I said yesterday, I decided to do this for him because he has been so great through this pregnancy. He is so excited about this little baby. So I wanted to do a little Father's Day surprise for him, all father-related gifts. I wanted to make sure he knew how important he is to all of us - including Stella - and wanted to make sure he felt involved in this pregnancy. Sometimes it can be difficult for fathers-to-be to really feel involved because they aren't carrying the baby. They don't really have anything to do at this point. But he has been amazing with everything that I have been going through. He has been there for every ultrasound (I don't expect him or ask him to come to my prenatal appointments at this point - that would be pointless). He has held my hair countless times during my days of morning sickness. He has said good morning to Poppy every morning, touching my growing belly gently. Sometimes I'm quite certain he'll be a better father than I'll be mother. He's completely amazing, caring and supportive.
All that being said, I wanted to make Father's Day special for him, even if technically he's not a father yet. So here's all it all went.
I think he enjoyed his surprise present. He seemed pretty excited about it at least. I do believe he had a good first father's day, even though I think technically his first real one is next year. We did spend father's day at my aunt and uncle's swimming and having a nice dinner. It was a nice day to get away from all the boxes and moving and just enjoy the day.
