Steppin' Into Love

No worries this is not going to be some cheesy "I love my husband" yada yada post. Yeah, sure I do love my husband but this has nothing to do with him other than he helped me a bit. This is all about the DIY. I've been wanting to do this project for awhile when I saw it on Pinterest.

So what else can I think but I have this adorable child with adorable feet. Perfect! Plus, I've been looking for new ideas for the mantel because it has been seriously lacking anything cute. So I thought this is just what I'm looking for. So off to Hobby Lobby we go in order to the supplies I needed to complete this project. And luckily for me I got to take my time shopping around because Little Bit slept through the entire trip.

I looked for a longer shadow box like the one pictured above, but couldn't find one so I had to settle for a larger square one and hope that it would work. I also picked me up some wooden letters and I was all set to go. 

First I had to paint the letters. I chose to paint them white because what I really wanted to stand out was the 'V' made from Addie's footprints. 

Then I had to figure out how I wanted the letters positioned, so I could get her feet stamped in just the right place. There wasn't going to be any do-overs. 

Then finally with the help of Rob, I stamped her feet. Understandably I didn't get any pictures. I was a little busy at the time.

And that was that. It was an easy project and I like how it turned out. I still wish I had been able to find a longer shadow box but I didn't. I still like the project and those little footprints. Good thing she's patient!
