To you this may appear to be nothing and perhaps it might have just been nothing (technically no perhaps about it - it was an easy fix), but when you aren't feeling well this is a disaster.
I have had an ear ache all yesterday and woke up feeling worse this morning, so all I wanted was to take it easy. And had every plan to do so right after I took care of the dishes. I hate having dishes just laying about. I like having my kitchen cleaned up. So my plan was to do the dishes, mostly just load the dishwasher and get it started, sanitize my pump stuff by boiling then grab lunch and just relax. I had just gotten Addison down for a nap after her fighting it all morning.
The dishes were easy enough to handle, but when I grabbed out my largest pot to get water boiling I discovered it was still dirty, so I had to wash that before I could any further. Then I noticed the sink wasn't draining well, so I flipped on the garage disposal. Suddenly my sock is soaking wet. I flip it off and throw open the cabinet doors. Water is rushing out of a pipe.
Panic! Never fear, we have a bucket....currently outside by the back fence where the wind pushed it and where we never picked it back up. So no bucket. So instead I grab the pot I just washed and got it under the sink to catch the water. Then in a rush call the hubs, who was already on his way home due to having to do some Marine work this afternoon.
It turned out to be an easy fix and Rob quickly proclaimed himself the best plumber ever then that was that. Currently everything that was under the sink is out drying and we have a fan drying out the cabinet. At least this time we didn't end up with a huge hole in our ceiling (read about that here and here)...
