I will admit that I was nervous when we got pregnant with Addison because I was afraid of how Stella would react to her. For the most part they just ignored each other. Addison was young enough that she didn't even know Stella was there. Stella pretty much wanted nothing to do with Addison and just plain ignored her. They coexisted though. (I wrote about them once before, check it out here.)
But things have changed for them. Much to Stella dismay.
Stella tolerates Addison. I think she likes her. Well, maybe she likes her. She at least likes her about 40% of the time. Addison loves her though. She chases Stella around. She pets her. She pats the couch or whatever she can whenever Stella comes walking by to try to get her to come. Addison just can't get enough of her. You wanna see?
But sometimes Stella does like her. Sometimes it's Stella coming to Addison. Sometimes it's Stella that's affectionately rubbing against Addison. Sometimes they just sit together. Sometimes they equally adore each other.
Addison has had to learn how to gently pet Stella, although there is still the occasional grabbing of the tail or ears. And sometimes there's the even worse occasional time when Addison tries to push Stella off the balcony. Stella tolerates it. She plots where she's going to land if need be. She doesn't snap. She doesn't bite. She doesn't pull out of her claws (although she only has back claws). She manages through until she can make her escape then she walks away. She isn't a dummy though, Stella rarely goes to Addison when I'm not around. She knows that I keep 34 pound Addison from landing on top of 12 pound Stella cat.
Despite their occasional issues and such, they are becoming fast best friends.
