When Daddy Gets Home

I have talked about a typical day on more than one occasion (check here, here, and here), and there's another one coming up (2 year edition) in the next month sometime. But this isn't about our day. This is about our evening. This is about after daddy gets home.

Dinner is on the table when Rob walks in the door. That's a normal thing in our house. If it's not on the table then it's just finishing up. We like to get dinner out of the way so we can carry on the rest of our evening. Yes, it's very 1950s of me to have dinner on the table when my husband, who's been working all day, comes home but I don't care. I like it this way.

Every day, when we can, we go for a walk. We are loving this beautiful fall weather.

We get back and no surprise, it's play time.

Rob's working on a project, which I'll share the details on another day.

She wanted so badly to go outside, but it was dark and almost bedtime.

Daddy finished working on some of his project so it's cuddle time for the two of them.

Well the two of them and every stuffed animal Addison could get her hands on.

Bed time routine always ends up being more of a playtime. It must help wear her out.

That was the detailed run-down I'm known for. But that's our evening. Rob usually gets home around 5:30 and we have dinner then Addison is down at 8:00. Then there's everything else in the middle.

I should mention that after she goes to bed, we don't immediately go to bed ourselves. The night I captured our evening, Rob worked on Marine stuff and I watched Titanic: Blood and Steel plus duh, worked on this post. We usually head upstairs sometime between 9:00-10:00 then usually asleep by 10:30 or 11:00. Or at least I am. Sometimes Rob programs much later into the night and then I have no idea how late it gets before he sleeps.
