We have actually been pretty good. We have been busy. We have done a bit more traveling then we usually do. We have just had a lot on our plates lately. We have enjoyed not having Rob drilling every month and not having to do two-three weeks of annual training this summer. We transitioned very easily into a fully civilian family for now. Rob is still in the Marine Corps and we have discussed him going back at some point but for now we are taking our time making any decision. It has just been really nice having him around all the time. Otherwise he's just busy with Garmin.
I've been busy but not busy at the same time. I feel like I can never keep up with everything. Of course Addie is a full time job that has completely worn me out. I have felt a little under the weather lately so we have been doing a lot of just chilling. It's too hot some days to go outside and I get eaten alive every time I step out the door so I avoid it if I can. I can never seem to keep up with housework. And soon I'll be working on paperwork for Addison to go to preschool - although that's a different blog for another day because frankly I'm not ready for my little girl to head to preschool.
Speaking of Addison she is doing awesome. She's been very opinionated lately. She's learned the art of stalling during bedtime and nap time, which is driving both of us crazy. But she's talking a lot. And she's finally getting a full head of hair, which she refuses to let us comb. I guess it doesn't matter if it's combed since she's always wearing her Royals hat anyway.
Stella has probably been the most exciting among us just because she has been to the vet several times due to some eye issues. We took her for her checkup and to get a shot, and while we were there we asked about all the discharge she was having from her eyes. They looked into it and saw that her eyes were basically inflamed. So we tried treating with medicine but her eyelids/eyelashes were still rolling in rubbing on her eyes. We did it a little longer then went back and it was still happening. So that leaves surgery as the only way to correct it. Since we don't have pet insurance (I think that's a thing), she is going to have to wait on any surgery. I don't feel quite as bad about waiting since it's not affecting her vision but only a discomfort issue. However since we did do the medicine and it did help some, she has been feeling better and wanting to play more which maybe means she might finally start losing some weight because of course she is a little overweight.
Like I said Stella has been the most exciting among us. We are mostly just hanging in there. We have been busy but for a couple weeks things slow down for us before we get busy again. Life has a way of doing that I guess. But we are good. My house isn't clean but we're good so that's what matters.
Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday!
xo, B
