- A few weeks ago, I getting up from the kitchen table to get a carrot (stupid carrot!) and my knee cracked against the leg. My body kept moving but because my knee was against the table leg and my body was moving forward, the force pushed my knee out of place. I immediately grabbed my knee and felt that my knee cap was off to the side (this was my left knee which I have always had problems with). It slipped back into place and I hit the floor. We got ice on it quickly and I stayed off it but it hurt for a long time. Exercise took a back seat while it healed. It gives me chills and makes me want to cry when I even think about that feeling.
- I read some "articles" on different sites like blogher and mom.me and such, and not too long ago I saw that someone had written one about how to "jinx" your way into getting pregnant. It included ideas from starting a new fitness program to stocking your home bar. And I got extremely upset. How nice it must be to just "jinx" your way into a pregnancy. Seeing things like this puts it out there that it's okay to tell a woman struggling to get pregnant that you should just stock up your home bar or relax and it will happen or adopt and you'll get pregnant. That's not how bodies work for one. Sometimes there is actually something wrong and sometimes you have to get help and sometimes even then it doesn't work. If you know someone going through infertility don't say anything like that. Don't give advice about how you got pregnant the first month you tried. Don't give tell her to just relax. It's not helpful and most likely the woman will want to punch you then go home and cry.
- I had a complete panic attack the other day. I had just gotten home from the grocery store and several other errands. I had just gone to the bathroom when I realized that I didn't have my wedding ring on. I completely panicked. I started looking everywhere I could think and yes had the thought that I had just flushed it down the toilet. My heart starts racing and and I'm full on panic mode. After several minutes, I remembered that I had taken it off and put it on my kitchen ring holder when I was working with rare meat earlier. Pregnancy brain is kicking my butt.
- My sister recently sent me this picture the other day and it was dead on the money.
- Whenever I get Addison out of her room on the weekends, she will run into our room and if she sees that Rob is still sleeping then she'll put her finger to her lips and whisper "daddy asleep." However last Saturday when Rob went to get her and I was still in bed, she ran into the room, yanked the covers and yelled "wake up!" What's up with that, kid?!
