Emma Lynn: 10 Months

Dear Emma:

I am complete disbelief that you are already 10 months. These past few months have just flown by. You are just changing so fast. This last month was a huge month for you. You hit so many milestones. Truthfully I'm not sure I'm ready for all of your milestones but here they are ready or not.

You had started crawling last month and we knew it wouldn't be long before you started to pull up. And sure enough it didn't take long. You started pulling yourself up on short things first then before we knew it, you were standing at the ottoman and the couch. Then we knew it wouldn't be long before you were moving around things. You are still pretty slow but you are inching around things. Before I'm ready you are definitely going to be on the move and walking. I just can't believe that I can even be thinking about you walking. Not only are you inching slowly around things, you have taken to climbing the stairs. One day you just took them on and now that's all you want to do. You haven't figured out how to go down and sometimes you try to just sit on the step which rarely goes well for you, but you love climbing up for sure.

You are eating like a champ still. Some days you have a little less formula than others but that's still your main source of food. But you are now only eating table food! This was both exciting and scary. It makes life a little easier but at the same time it's always scary to try to figure out what to feed you. And with only six teeth in there, you eating only table food is just plain scary but you are doing great. If you aren't sure about food you tend to sweep everything off your tray so I still have to spoon feed you but other times you self-feed great. Your dad thinks it's because it's new and you just don't know about it. I think you are just lazy and want me to do the work.

You have been talking for awhile now mostly just saying mama, but now you are saying a lot more. You finally said dada which was really exciting for your dad. Of course now you say dada during the day all the time then refuse to say it once he's home. Sometimes daddy just wants to hear it. Other than dada, you are babbling a ton. You often have a lot to say. You definitely aren't letting yourself get lost as the third kid with two very noisy siblings. Sometimes you and Connor get into screaming matches. You two will just stare at each other than start screaming then start laughing. The two of you are definitely trouble.

Just recently you hit two more milestones. You started clapping which makes you really excited when someone claps back at you. You also have waved a few times. The clapping happens more than the waving because it's much newer but you have done it a couple times.

You are such a happy girl. You love going for our daily three walks. You love talking to people. You love your sloth. You are curious about everything. You are into everything. You are such an amazing little girl and I am lucky to be your mom. I just wish you would slow down a little bit because you are just growing too fast. I love you so much.

Love, Mama
