1. I washed a basketball in the washing machine, not realizing Connor had put it in our laundry basket then clothes got stacked on top. I just dumped and didn't realize until I went to put the clothes in the dryer. That is definitely the weirdest thing I have washed hands down.
2. I love new notebooks. I'm a stationary freak but I find it so intimidating to actually write in it for the first time.
3. After picking up Connor from school one day I come home and find a giant spider in the kitchen. He was a big boy too and I got myself completely freaked out. I didn't want want to smash him because I worried it would leave a mark on the wall but I couldn't come up with a way to get him outside without getting close to him. So I consult Connor (yes the 3 year old at the time) about opening the window and seeing if the spider will go that way. Since it was a spider and not a cat, it didn't work. So then I decide that I was going to vacuum it then empty the vacuum outside. The 3 year old thought it was a great idea so it probably wasn't. But then I lost my nerve and by this point I was having a full panic attack. I called Rob (ya know the days when he actually used to go to work to work) who laughed at me and suggested I use a cup to get him outside. I go back back to the vacuum idea though because I couldn't stand the idea of getting that close to him, and the spider was aiming to disappear into my cabinet area. I turn on max suction and take aim. The spider resists and somehow ends up falling but he catches himself with a web and is now dangling in the middle of the kitchen. I freak out, Connor freaks out because I freak out, Emma blissfully continued to eat Cheerioes and thank goodness Addison was still at school. Meanwhile Rob is hearing all this over the phone. Before the spider can fully climb back up I vacuum him and rush outside afraid to turn it off because I worried the spider would jump out. I empty it and rush back inside with a laughing Connor watching all of it. Rob was amused by the entire thing and I'm almost in tears due to panic. We survived and are stronger people for it. And next time I'm just burning the house down.
4. When it's really cold out, my knee always ends up feeling really loose and I hate the way it feels so even if it isn't icy I often wrap my knee under my pants for peace of mind. I just don't like the feeling.
5. I take a bigger stride forward with my right leg than I do with my left.
6. I like to be home on New Years because I like to ring in the new year with a fresh start at home. Plus I care very littlea bout doing anything and just want to lay in my own bed watching YouTube videos while my kids sleep and my husband plays video games next to me until one of us notices its midnight. Quick kiss then relief because I can finally go to sleep.
7. For a very long time I was scared of my oven. It took me a awhile to deal with that fear. I cook every day now and it's just a healthy respect for the hot, burning appliance that lives in my kitchen.
8. I get really impatient waiting for the water to heat up in order to wash my face (and honestly I hate washing my face too) so I often end up washing my face with pretty cold water.
9. I can touch my eyes and put in contacts with no problem but I can't do eye drops well. I hate them so much. (But I use them regularly to rewet my eyes because I have dry eyes with contacts in and I get tired of wearing my glasses all the time.)
10. When I get really tired and stay up too late I get nauseous.
11. I love history (I actually have a degree in history). I think there is so much we can learn from it and I love me a good documentary. But I hate the history channel often has Ancient Aliens. I think the show is dumb.
12. For some reason I worried with all three of my kids that they got the gender wrong at the ultrasound and we would be prepared with a name and all the stuff and it would be opposite. That wasn't ever the case but for some reason I actively worried about it during my pregnancies.
13. I love summer thunderstorms.
14. After my knee surgery my leg used to give out on me for a long time. Months after even after being discharged from PT and cleared from the doctor. Years later it doesn't happen anymore but I still have a fear that my leg will give out on me when I am cooking and I will fall onto the oven door and burn like all of me.
15. Of all my pregnancies I only ever got nosebleeds with Connor and to this day he is the only one who consistently gets nosebleeds.
16. I have been using a bullet journal since August 2016 and I love it. Before the bullet journal I made up my own printable sheets and put together a whole home/planner notebook that I used for a long time. I have tried to stray away from the bullet journal but I always end up going back.
17. I can't draw at all but I have always wanted to. Maybe I'll work on drawing in my 34th year of life.
18. I do really enjoy doing watercolor. I'm not great at all but I like it a lot.
19. I really like to color. I'm not great at blending but it's something that I would love to learn. I do love coloring with markers, especially alcohol markers but you definitely don't want to be dropping those! Regardless I love to color.
20. I am definitely not an outdoor person. I will always prefer the inside however I do really love having the windows open.
21. I don't talk about it a lot but I actually have my own business. It's still super small but that doesn't mean it's not a huge thing for me. I have had it for almost three years and it has been a really nice supplemental income for us.
22. I have trouble falling asleep in the quiet. I don't even do well with white noise or music. I always go to sleep before Rob so the TV is on and I do best with talking. I half listen and that helps me not just lay there and think which quiets the anxiety. Probably not a healthy way to deal with it but it's what I do.
23. Ever since my pregnancy with Emma I have barely eaten meat. I don't know why but I struggle with the texture and it's making me feel nauseous. So I don't actually eat a lot of meat anymore.
24. Summer is my least favorite season. I don't like the cold of winter but I really really hate the heat.
25. I read 52 books in a year once. It was the year Addie was born and I haven't read that many in a year since. I didn't read small books either. But I'm proud of myself and will probably never do it again.
26. I love Marvel movies. My favorite superhero hands down is Thor.
27. If given the choice between a cook or maid, I would choose a cook. As long as the cook also did my meal planning and grocery shopping for me. I am so tired of doing the planning, shopping, cooking and the general thinking of food.
28. I hate talking on the phone. It was one of my least favorite things to do even before the world of texting.
29. It is nearly impossible for me to find sunglasses that I like. About a year ago my sunglasses broke and it was just about the worst thing to happen to me because finding new ones was really really hard. I finally found some that were pretty similar to my original pair and I do really love them but sunglasses are hard for me.
30. I get nauseous swinging on a swing, even for just a few seconds. It really messes with my head.
31. I have been journaling since I was about in 3rd grade. Over the years I haven't always done a great job keeping up every day but I try my best and I have over 20 notebooks to show for years and years of journaling. I keep them all in a cedar chest that my dad built for me.
32. I have taken part in Nanowrimo for the last few years and have won. I have actually been writing for as long as I can remember. My first story was about a girl who wanted to swim across the ocean and everyone told her she couldn't do it but she she knew she could so she did it anyway. A true work of art in that short story. I actually love writing, although I don't often show anyone what I write, but I think it's fun. And I have really enjoyed the last few novels I have written with Nanowrimo each year.
33. I have a major fear of snakes. They are really really creepy. My favorite animal is a tiger or a sloth.
34. I am always cold. I don't do it outside in the summer because I'm not insane but inside I am often wearing sweatshirts or long pants (usually sweatpants of some kind).
If you are interested in the last couple years of these, here's a ton more facts about me (and I can't promise I have never repeated a fact because it's a lot of things to remember!):
