Emma Lynn: 21 Months

 

Dear Emma: 

You are my pistol. You are my third baby and you are teaching me things every day. You are good at surprising me and completely throwing me off. You have also been teaching me new things everyday, including that even though we can take the handles off the drawers you will still find a way into it. And because you are always teaching me new things everyday, you are also continuing to teach me patience. 

To call you a trouble maker would be putting it lightly. We actually call you a kraken. You pop up out of nowhere normally, cause mass destruction then disappear again. You are still a master at distraction. You cause trouble in one area then as I am fixing that mess, you run to what you really want which is something bigger and messier. And it gets me every time! 

You are a master singer. You sing a lot while you play or look at books, and your songs are just so adorable. As for talking, you still aren't doing too much of that. There are days that you talk and it's super clear what you are saying but there are still many days that you just don't say a lot of actual words. I'll confess that it worries me some but I know you will get there. You say what you want when you want for sure. 

You have definitely become a bit of a picky eater, which is because you have learned that we can't make you eat. Some days you eat great and other days you want nothing to do with food other than what snacks you get in between meals which honestly makes you a bit cranky. I figure you probably aren't starving and you will eat when you are hungry. We have been doing some close watching of what you eat though since we notice that some food seems to make you wheeze. We are still figuring it out all out but there is definitely some that set you off. 

You don't really have any favorite toys. You basically want to play with anything that your brother and sister are playing with. You do love books though. When you are just looking for something to do with yourself, you often end up looking through books time and time again. I think your other favorite pastime is driving the cat crazy. You are just completely obsessed with her and Stella just doesn't love it. You got hissed at pretty good the other day but luckily you haven't been bit yet. And it's a chore trying to keep it that way. 

Like I said, you are my pistol. You change all the rules for me all the time and has definitely been a challenge. But you are also so funny and amazing. You keep us smiling and laughing. I love you so much little girl.
