Honestly I wasn't really sure we would get here to this first day of school again. It has been six months since my kids have been in school and that has definitely felt like a couple of lifetimes. And truthfully they are just so ready to be back in school. The last few weeks have been pretty rough around here to be honest.
This year my girl is starting 2nd grade which is just so hard to believe. I have those unbelievable moments when I realize that she is about to turn 8! She did so well for all those months and doing school from home but it was definitely not a walk in the park. She is ready for the classroom and to be challenged again. She is ready for school.
Connor, my man, just wants to go to school. He was bummed that his year came to close early last year without even getting to say bye to this teacher. Luckily for him, he has one year left of Pre-K and he still has the same teacher. He seriously adores her and is just itching to get back.
The house around here definitely won't be so quiet since Connor will only have school in the afternoons but also because my kids are on a hybrid schedule to start the year. And as it so turned out, my kids won't be going to school on the same days. While Addie is going to school, Connor will be doing school from home. Then Addie has a day of remote learning while Connor has a day off then he is in afternoon school while Addison does remote learning. It will be crazy and a bit exhausting but we'll get through. The kids are just excited to get back any number of days because they just want to be in school again.
