Friday Five

 1. I have been awful about writing lately. I guess that's life with three kids. And honestly I haven't had much to say. We had a very boring August and did nothing (thanks a lot pandemic!). I have some ideas of things I do want to write about and I hope that as school starts (next week - yay!) and fall settles in, I'll get better about writing again.

2. If you have been following my blog for any amount of time then you might remember that I had knee surgery almost four years ago now. Then I more recently wrote about how I was having problems with my leg. Well that problem continues and we are continuing trying to figure out what is going on. The most recent thing I need to do is an MRI. And I hate MRI. I mean I really really hate them, so I was already dreading having to do it. Then we got a letter from our insurance saying that they denied coverage of the MRI. We were confused but then realized that it was all Rob's name on the letter so I ended up calling and sure enough it was submitted under his name. My doctor's office had already got the all rolling on getting the right name submitted so that was something. Then about a week later I got another letter. This time it had my name on it but again it said the coverage was denied. I could have cried. I already didn't want to do this but then we were going to have to pay it out of pocket. It was a mess. We were talking about it, trying to figure out how to handle it when he grabbed the stack of paper from me. I still had a hold of one piece and I looked at it and it turned out to be a letter that said my MRI was approved. Wait, what?! So I had to call the insurance again and as it turns out all they have in their system was that my MRI was approved and they didn't know why I had a letter denying coverage. What a mess! As if getting a MRI wasn't bad enough now, there is all kinds of insurance issues but we got it sorted out finally thank goodness. And even better the MRI is over and I didn't panic (but that silly thing took an hour and a half so yikes!).

3. Just like with stores I have be ahead when it comes to kits and stickers I put out in the shop. Right now I am designing and looking for photos/art for Christmas. It is surprisingly hard to be inspired and design anything for Christmas when I am definitely not in the Christmas mood.

4. School is finally starting next week and although I haven't talked about it much lately, we are all ready. My kids will be going back hybrid, so they will only be going two days a week. I will probably talk more about it later but two days is better than nothing for sure. They would rather just go two days and do the rest from home than do it all from home. They miss school, their friends and seeing other people than each other because these last couple weeks have been rough around here.

5. I am slowly become a plant person. I have been getting more and more plants to put around the house (again maybe sometime I'll go into more about this), but our most recent buy was a snake plant. I had read that it is really good for your bedroom and sleep. It's supposed to be good for pulling toxins out of the air and I can use all the help I can get these days when it comes to a good night's sleep. We have naturally gone on to name all our plants so when we got the snake plant we were talking about what we should name it, but I couldn't think of any good famous snakes in movies. We thought about Sir Hiss from Robin Hood but then Rob suggested the anaconda from Anaconda, so I jokingly said Andy for short. Then after that every name we came up with, I said Andy for short. Well I bet you can't guess what his name is. Yup, that's right Andy. And I kid you not, Emma loves that plant more than her own father. Every day when we gets up, she runs over to it, says 'hi Andy' then gives it a kiss but completely ignores Rob. Andy is definitely part of the family. I think if we had to vote someone off the island, Rob would be voted off over Andy.
