Emma Lynn: 9 Months

Dear Emma:

I know I say this every month but I can't believe you are already 9 months! This last month seriously flew by. And we had a lot of big moments this last month as well which definitely made it go by even faster.

The biggest thing that happened this last month was that you started crawling! I can barely believe it. It doesn't seem possible that you are crawling much less moving around on your own at all. You have been bouncing while sitting to get around for awhile then just one day you got yourself on your hands and knees. Then you started just moving. And now you are pretty dang fast. You love to destroy your big brother's train tracks, pull on cords and you have lately been going for the stairs. You are definitely keeping me on my toes. I can't leave you somewhere and expect you find you there still because you are definitely on the move.

We have been getting a pretty good routine down with your big brother and sister back in school. It's going pretty well. You are still taking two naps a day. We just have to make the naps work around drop off and pick ups. Luckily you adapt really well and we make it all work. You also love going on all the walks lately. You are always smiling and sitting up straight taking in everything. I have been asked several times if you are ever unhappy.

Eating has been going well. You aren't a big fan of yogurt melts or puffs though. But purees are going well. We haven't exactly figured out breakfast yet but you don't usually need anything after your bottle. You have a total of four bottles a day between 6-8 ounces and you eat both lunch and dinner. It works well for us. It's nice to not be on a time schedule of every couple of hours you have to eat or sleep. But we can just have a regular schedule of eating at lunch time and dinner time. You usually have two half tub of a protein mix and fruit for lunch then two half tubs of a protein mix and vegetables for dinner. It seems to be working well. You eat really well.

Now that you are on the move, it makes it really hard for you to figure out what to play with. You just want to check everything out and you aren't such a big fan of anything in particular. You do love your sloth, Speedy. He goes everywhere with us and we get all kinds of compliments about him too.

You aren't talking too much. You have said mama and you have a strong 'g' sound but mostly you don't talk too much. I'm not overly worried because you have two siblings who do a lot of talking for you. You'll get there.

You are just doing so well. I can't believe how much you have grown and changed in just a month. You are such an awesome little girl and I am so lucky to your mom. I love you so much.

Love, Mama
